Overview

The Vespa™ Classic Scooter ...
We offer the original Vespa™ Classic models, genuine 1960's scooters restored and fitted with a brand new engine for reliability which is included in the price ( worth over £750 ! ) The Classic model covers various models made during the 60's all very similar. We use Douglas ( Bristol UK ) 152L2, 232L2, Sportique, Italian VBA, VBB, VNA, VNB or Indian V252, V402 and V462 all very similar styling. The rounded headlamp, curved bubble panels and the renowned 'wasp' like rear end is what the vespa™ is famous for. We now fit this classic model with a brand new 5 port, 4 speed, 12v electronic ignition and optional push button electric start engine.

Our scooters are completely restored here in Edinburgh with all works carried out in house. Once you place your order we allocate one from our stock of unrestored scooters or we will find the model you require. The scooter is completely stripped back to its bare shell, sand blasted to remove any corrosion, rust proof etched and then primered before the top coat paint is applied. We have restored in many stunning colours, using 2K or the latest waterbased base coat and clear paint systems used by all the leading car manufacturers. The finish is simple and just how vespa intended with original chrome and polished detailing around the scooter. Our popular period colours available are old english white, rossi red, vintage grey, original blue, silver and pure black but we can paint in any colour you like, just give us the paint code ! All new cables, electrical wiring, mph speedo, 10" wheels and converted fork ( if requested ), rubbers, tyres, lamps, bulbs, chrome trim seats and badges are all replaced for new. The new engine is then fitted which delivers upto 9 bhp compared with just 6 bhp of an original engine. It looks and sounds the same and no one would ever know what lies underneath ! This new engine offers better starting, improved fuel effienciency and reliability, lower emissions and speeds of upto 60mph although we can engine tuning if more speed is required. All this makes the scooter feel just like its off the production line.

The orignal black/silver number plate is retained and our scooter are uk registered. As the scooters are pre-1973 then they are classed as historic vehicles and are road tax exempt. Each scooter comes with 6 months parts warranty, we can arrange delivery direct to you anywhere in the UK which comes ready to ride.

Please understand that restoration is no fast thing and quality is important to us. Our scooters are bespokely restored to each customers individual requirements. This takes time and lots of effort, these scooters are 50+ years old and not always in the best of conditions when they arrive. We have a waiting list for our restored scooters, as a guide the lead time on a Vespa™ classic scooter is approx 6-9 months however this can depend on the requirements of each build.
